The Archaeological Park in Constanța exhibits the remains of the city of Tomis, which was founded here during the Roman – Byzantine period. The outdoor ruins are situated and can be visited in the central area of the city, next to important touristic, such as the Casino and the Aquarium.

Inside the park, visitors can also see the Roman city wall, which dates back from the 3rd century AD and presents towers, bastions and two gateways into the city. You should not miss the ruins of the Butchers’ Tower, rebuilt during the rule of Emperor Justinian I the Great.

Considered to be an outdoor history museum, the Archaeological Park presents numerous amphorae which guard its alleys. These are large ceramic vessels used in the past for keeping provisions and cereals.
